Aquariums

Aquariums are no longer just used for fish these days. Many people use them to house reptiles, bugs and many other types of creepy crawlies. Some people even use them to create tropical contained settings of plant life.

The first fish that were kept inside a tank was done so by the Roman Empire. They used marble tanks with one pane of glass so you could see the fish easier than looking down into 4 walls of marble. Up through the ages, aquariums have been used by many different people all over the world.

During the 1800’s, the actually keeping of fish became popular in the United Kingdom and the hobby quickly spread to other continents.

It is estimated that there are at least 60 million people worldwide who keep some type of fish or animal in an aquarium. Many of them have more than one aquarium that they maintain.

Most aquariums are bonded together with silicones and have plastic frames on the upper and lower portions to make it more appealing to the eye.  They come in many different sizes and shapes and you can rest assured you can find one for whatever your application of it is calling for.
